Safeway will only sell tobacco products from the fueling stations I was informed the other day.. store clerk said that the fueling station sells the smokes cheaper than the store 1.00 a pack price differance..I asked why such a huge price differance she said we are trying to discourage sells in store..and to increass sells at the fueling stations..

If you're fed-up with government intrusion into our private lives (alcohol, tobacco, weight or so-called obesity, etc.) especially the nonsense and destruction surrounding smoking bans, then discuss/fight smoking bans at the FORCES tavern or go directly to their FORCES homepage. A UK-based group (forcing a Judicial Review of the English smoking ban) is Freedom to Choose, with another great forum for chatting and organizing here.

What's their reasoning on this?

I used to have compassion, but they legislated it and taxed it out of existence.

I have no Idea whats really going on here.. I thought I would share something that happened to me when I went to my local grocery store..

I been thinking about this for the last few days on why..

trying to second guess the store motives here is some of the things I came up with..

1. getting the tobacco products out of the mains stores so that young children can't see them or see adults buy them.

2. fueling station are visited by adults or people who have valid drivers lic.

3. all tobacco products are in a more secure place less likely for children to swipe off store shelves.

4. OUt of site out of mind

guess that this is what prompted the switch over..
