FIRED UP AT SMOKE WARNING
Dear Miriam

MY eight-year-old daughter came home from school saying her dad and I must give up smoking because we're killing her.

Apparently her teacher had talked about the dangers of second-hand smoking, scaring a lot of the children as well as us.

During hearings for the smoking ban here an entire class of 3rd graders made a presentation to the council, it was a class project. The designed a logo, had it emblazoned on tshirts for the occation, and reguritated everything they had learned from their teacher, television, and other concerned adults. They looked like the "Hitler Youth" to me.

Based on comments I made on various sites, I was called by a graduate student from Illinois for my thoughts on her thesus. The enite class was required to develope and "anti-smoking campaign". I declined, she evidently didn't read what I had said.

I was surprised that my comments came up on a Google search on "Smoking Bans". I think this student got my name from someone who read the Indianapolis Business journal. I got a lot of mail thanking me for presenting facts vs fiction.

You might be amased what kids are currently learning in school, no wonder they can't read, write, or do math, they don't have the time.
