Our local paper had a cartoon last week called "Then" and "Now". In the "Then" square was a drawing of a blindfolded prisoner standing before a firing squad; the executioner holds out a pack of cigarettes: "Last cigarette?", he asks.

In the "Now" square the same scene - blindfolded prisoner, firing squad. The executioner holds a piece of paper and reads from it: "And for the crime of smoking in public..."
