Paul Raises More Than $3.5M in One Day
Found this on the Comcast News home. Very impressive! Looks like Dr. Paul just might shake things up! And give Mrs. Clinton a run for her $$$$. Enjoy, varla_pussycat |

I saw that too. I consider it an absolutely incredible sign, mostly in the sense that Dr. Paul represents what an increasingly huge percentage of Americans actually want.
But I don't think he stands a chance against the primary system (even his own party, the Republicans, don't like him), and I'm not sure we'd want him to win. He's probably more effective as a candidate than he would be as a president. Here's why: unless we dumped most of our bought-and-paid-for congresscritters as well, they'd tie him up. They wouldn't work with him. If you'll recall, that's exactly what happened to Jimmy Carter. He's the only president during my lifetime that in no way was a sold-out whore, he only snuck in because Watergate left the existing hegemony in chaos, and even though he slipped past the gate guardians while they were distracted, "good people" immediately went to "working hard" to make sure his presidency was a complete failure. He was doomed from the start. Dr. Paul would be in the same boat. Much as I like Ron Paul, he's probably most effective as a lightning rod... at least, for the time being. |

Don't count him out yet.
The local elections in Indianapolis and Marion County turned the norm upside down yesterday as the underfunded and ignored Republican party swept thru to victory. All the players in our local smoking ban have been removed from office, even those who tried to escape by accepting executive positions with the administration since the Mayor also lost reelection. I could not be more pleased. So, maybe Paul will do the same. |

I totally agree with you. However, it's a shame that Ron Paul couldn't make it due to the corrupt 2 party system. And that's probably one of the reasons that the Republicans don't like him - because he doesn't play "the game" and won't sell out.
However - I do strongly think that this is a bit of a wake up call to the Republican and Democratic leadership, as well as the media, that there are a lot of Americans out there that are tired of the corporate corruption that they are spoon feeding us. If it's not a wake up call to all of them, it should be. Maybe he'll wind up on the ballot as an independent. Have any thoughts on that? Thanks varla_pussycat |
