whats up with all the "studies" flooding the media

It is the .com boom on Wall Street - if your want money - propose a study.

The market is the driving force.

In the long run it is just a building of more crap on top of existing crap, much like a landfill. The bigger the pile the less likely anyone will actually look at how the study was conducted and how they reached their conclusions. The weight of the studies is just that, the pile gets heavier. They are attracting every con artist on the planet to cash in.

In the long run it is the "overwhelming evidence" they are trying to build up to counter any actual challenge to their conclusions. The witness list of any trial will become so long the jury will pass away from boredom before the opposing side gets up to the plate.

I would like to see a study of drug company profits from nicotine replacemetn products, antidepressents, and stimulants like ridalin since these bans have been instituted. How the pricing of these products generate retail prices equal to or greater than tobacco products they replaced and what the profit margins are for them.

It is like the research dollars described for many new drugs are being used to create the research to support encouraging the public to buy these products. In that case they are advertising expenses, not research dollars, and the profits are obscene.

The same thing happened right after the EPA Report back in '93..........Flood the masses with lies, and they will turn against (in this case,) smokers.........A guy named Adolph Hitler was quite successful in accomplishing the same thing 70 years ago. Only that time, the victims were Jews.

Pat, hitler was also a rabid anti-smoker. I think the modern antis are using plays right out of his book.
