When I was a mere lad in the mid 1960's the sci fi series Outer Limits had an episode where a soldier from the future somehow ended up in the present time. He had been condidtioned to be a killing machine, completely obedient and without mercy. He, as well as the people in the present time, smoked. His cigarettes, however, were ignited by striking the end against a rough surface.
