I have to laugh at this (and I notice some respondents at that link noted the same thing): these pampered congresscritters are up in arms because they can't buy cigarettes nearby, while they can still smoke in their offices and the rest of us have been pushed outside at our workplaces, restaurants, and even bars.
I recall that when Michael Bloomberg banned smoking in New York City with "no exceptions," Rudy Giuliani said (close paraphrase) "I hope you'll include an exemption for my annual cigar party, Mike, or I'll have to withdraw my support from you." Giuliani made it sound lighthearted, but Bloomberg exempted him immediately.
If those with great wealth and power had to live by the same rules the rest of us do, things would change in a hurry.
That'll never happen, of course.

This ridiculous ban reminds me of the law that's always being pushed to ban the sale of ammunition on New Years Eve day. Now let me think ? ? ? ? Maybe I can buy my bullets on December 30. Yeah, that works. Just another feel-good symbolic BS law.
