Dear Les,
I understand your concerns. As stated in our Privacy Policy on the websites, we and our current Native American shippers DO NOT hold any past, present or future order records for anyone. In fact, now all individual packs are tax stamped by the Seneca Nation of Indians. We appreciate your business, and we will try to keep you abreast of any new changes that may or may not affect you. Sincerely, Craig Chiavetta Processing Manager- Internet Smokes |

Looks so far so good with these guys.
I hope they have a really good shredder... I used to buy from Seneca Hawk years ago - never through the internet - I used to call direct. I'd have to give address info each time, as apparently they weren't keeping records anywhere. I'm still leery of internet and out-of-state. And the shipping companies finked in the past too - giving up the addresses delivered. And I believe there's a bill floating around Congress now to ban cig mailings through the post office. A tax stamp from some Indian reservation, does not mean squat, in fact, unless they have a tax stamp from your state, you are liable for the state tax on the product. It's simple, unless you have "your" state tax stamp on them … you owe money. In Kansas, my state, they have an exemption. You can have up to 20 packs of cigarettes in your possession without the KANSAS STATE TAX STAMP on the package. If you have more, in your possession, you must prove the Kansas State cigarette tax, was paid. They give you so many day's, to file and pay the tax, other states are similar. It doesn't really matter how you purchased, by mail, or you brought them back in your car. Of course, nobody in their right mind, is going to report such. I mean in the Kansas City metro area, the state line between Kansas and Missouri, runs right through buildings. People shop and and work on both sides of the state line everyday. BTW, Penn state where this guy was nailed, allows no exemption. If you live in a state with an exemption, and do not order over the amount of such, it may be possible to keep from owing your state tax. It's akin to the duty-free allowance when coming back from out of country. Just a thought. This message has been edited. Last edited by: John L, |

gilster - I'm getting real leery about buying over the net. Would myo, but I've tried that & hated it. With a passion. Wished I lived near a reservation.
John L - The tax stamp thing threw me for a bit. THEN I realized a cusory glance at the stamp might throw others. MAYBE. Doubt my state has an exemption. Right now they are probing on whether to raise sin taxes. Liquor, gambling, & prostitution. |

If our (Wisconsin's) Fascist governor's $1.25 tax becomes reality, I will buy my smokes at an Indian Reservation about 55 miles from home; 2-3 cartons at a time. I will pay cash, whether a state stamp is on on the packages or not. There's no way that could be traced as long as you buy IN PERSON and pay in cash. Sorry, but RYO is too much of a pain in the ass.........

Does Wisc make you pay a sales tax on the state and federal excise taxes or just on the price of the cigarettes without the excise taxes included?

Just on the price of the cigarettes, I think...........
