COLORADO: Tobacco Tax Increase

Would increase the current tobacco tax from 20 cents to 64 cents per pack of cigarettes and increase the tax on other tobacco products by 20%. Proceeds would fund health care services and tobacco education and cessation programs.

Wonder how successful these tax initiatives would have been if they were proportionally the same on alcoholic beverages, snacks/candy/junk food? I thought obesity and binge drinking were the new boogiemen of public hellth yet smokers remain the whipping boy...
