Be sure to stop by http://www.vote.com and vote against the proposed Federal cigarette tax increase.

Vote early and vote often.

Just rendered my NO vote. So far we're winning on this one by a good majority. Let's keep it going.

Thanks for the heads up, Mark.

Whoops! I just realised, I was referring to the BBC poll on whether pictures of diseased gums are effective in stopping smoking.

I've got to keep my polls straight.

With a proposed Federal budget of $1,800,000,000,000.00 for the coming fiscal year, anyone who thinks the Feds need more money must be a grinning idiot.

That's $5,454.00 in taxes for every man, woman, and child in the country. Since only about one third of the population engages in productive work, that's about $16,000.00 per tax payer.

Seems like the polsters are looking for a 'yes' answer. Voting 'no' says you think it "would be unfair to smokers AND THE TOBACCO COMPANIES"!?!? It would seem most would not care about THEM.
It's fortunate our side received as many votes as it has.

Like we give a damn about the tobacco companies. And, more to the point, like they give a damn about US.

I voted at www.vote.com even before I found Speak Easy! I tried to vote again, but it won't let me. But we are still ahead of those that voted to increase the tax....
