From what I can gather, you can still legally purchase cigars and pipe tobacco online in most states. Of course, you can also purchase beer and wine online. These are all age restricted products, but they're not the cash cows for most states that cigs have become, yet...which explains the litigation against Fedex, UPS and the credit card companies. Can the tribes be far behind?

It actually all depends upon the state you are ordering from or want it delivered. My husband orders from Thompson Cigar and it specifically states
quote:
Due to legislation we cannot ship tobacco products to Delaware, Idaho, Maine, Montana or Oregon
And every page of the catalog it states, in red letters, Thompson Cigars does NOT sell cigarettes.
Online alcohol sales are also similar. The sales are legal, but the purchases can not be delivered to residents in some states. But those laws are even more screwy than the tobacco laws.

All tobacco is prohibited.... Including Cigars. Eventually the card associations, mastercard and visa will catch up to them unless they are processing non US

I have to disagree with you. My quotes from Thompson Cigars was from the most recent catalog we received and they accept all major credit cards.

I deal with tobacco companies everyday all day. You can disagree all you want, these are the facts. If you read the rest of my post you would see, I said in my post NON-US. They are not processing these transactions through a US bank...
