Thanks for the link, Rick.
Now if only the antis - most especially those that call themselves attorneys - would pay attention to this, maybe, just maybe.....................well you all know what I mean!!!! |

So now they want a nationwide class action suit. If you read only one of these read the Dow Jones one.
Dow Jones Business News L.A. Times Winston -Salem The heck with the tobacco companies - if these things aren't stopped it will be smokers who will be bankrupted because you know who always pays in the end. SHEESH As Walt Williams say so eloquently in the original posted article: "Who's mostly to blame for this attack on the foundations of a free society? Krauss doesn't quite say, but in my opinion it's people in the legal profession, because if there's a distinct group of Americans who harbor open contempt for constitutional principles and rule of law, it's lawyers, judges and members of Congress." |

I was going to start another thread, but this item fits amazingly well into this one about tort law, a perfect fit, like my wife's hand into my wallet. (Sorry, dear)
First of all here's the updated link to Walter Williams wonderfully insightful original article, Attacks on the rule of law. Now, here's another definitely blatant fresh attack on the "rule of law", State might require payment from small tobacco companies. The subtitle states, "Some companies avoided settlement". No kidding some companies avoided settlement!!! They did so because they weren't even defendants being sued, because they had absolutely NO liability - IMAGINE THAT! Imagine, if you will, GM settling with the government for some exorbitant amount for alleged past wrong-doings, and to ensure GM paid every last sent of the penalties without going bankrupt the government slapped corresponding penalties on Ford and Chrysler? Yea, right, that'll sure hold up in a court of law - (snicker, snicker). If this charade and very public stupidity announcement doesn't prove once and for all how blatantly illegal the states' attorneys general settlement with big tobacco was, then I'm a monkey's fat (_|_). It also scares me to think that all these "smart" people with college degrees and higher edumacation running our run-amuck grub'mint can be so all fired f...ing (sorry) stupid to endorse this crapola. It behooves me to think that Thomas Edison, a kid who got kicked out of school because "his brains were addled" achieved such great accomplishments, but many of those in our current state grub'mints and their well-edumacated lawyers are proving themselves to be nothing but common, ordinary, and incredibly stupid CROOKS and THIEVES who probably stole their damn diplomas. Bring back mandatory Constitution classes for everyone!!! //end rant// |

Hi Rick, your link worked perfectly, and so did Walter Williams' common sense - normally, his level of perceptivity is not acknowledged by ninnies in high places...thank you for posting. Stay with us.

Thanks for the "rant," Lock. Actually, it's not so much a rant as a clear delineation of the criminality of the MSA.
I remember when government bodies used to go after the Mafia; now they ARE the Mafia. |
