More people will not vote than will vote for either candidate; so, who cares?
We see that about 3 out of 10 of the eligible citizens did not even register to vote!! 36% of voting-age citizens did not vote and this is more people than voted for either candidate.They had about 32.5% and 31.5%. All of the talk of the majority rule is actually rule by minority. This is why smoking bans get voted into effect. Turnout for the November 2004 Election In the presidential election of November 2004, the 64 percent of voting-age citizens who voted was higher than the 60 percent who turned out in 2000. The registration rate of the voting-age citizen population, 72 percent, was higher than the 70 percent registered in the 2000 election.
