It seems FORCES site is not online any more. Does anyone know what happened to them?

It's up now. Try again.

Must have been one of those mysterious cyber glitches. Happens to all sites at one time or another.

I just tried it and it's coming up for me. I'm using Mozilla Firefox. I also tried in IE and Netscape, and it's coming up fine in them, too.

(In your link, you have a comma after org. Make sure you're not putting that comma in.)

I'm seeing the usual FORCES home page. It hasn't changed since before Christmas because they took the holidays off from updating. It's not that it's in my cache because I haven't looked at the FORCES page in IE in a long time. And I've only opened Netscape a couple of times since I downloaded it months and months ago.

I can't get there either. The same page that nightlight is getting, is what I get.

tnsmoker, I think you may have their old page cached by your browser. Try going to links there or clearing browser cache.

FORCES website comes up for me.

If by going to links you mean clicking on links on the page they all worked for me: Links to other FORCES webpages and external links.

I edited my previous post to add about trying IE and Netscape, so you might not have seen that. I haven't looked at the latest home page at FORCES in either before today, so they're not cached. It's still coming up for me in all three browsers.

And I was able to sign in at the Tavern, too.

It seems that DNS entry for their server has changed and some ISPs haven't updated it (this may take 24-48 hours to refresh DNS cache on your local ISP). On ISPs that do work FORCES IP is 69.60.12.152 while on those on which it doesn't work the IP is 68.178.232.100 (you can get IP by going to command prompt and typing command PING www.forces.org <Enter>.

I can get onto the start page.
On the Tavern page I get a 404 error
I'm using Mozilla Firefox.

The requested URL /phpBB2/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm getting the 404 page at the Tavern now, but the home page comes up for me.

Maybe it'll all clear up in a day or two.

It cleared here (DNS got refreshed) on all 3 separate internet providers. The tavern, which is on the same server, is apparently deacitvated on the server itself (perhaps a file missing). They still didn't change their Christmas page.

Good, glad you're able to access it now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the home page isn't changed until January 15 when they say they'll be back with posting the comments again.

I usually access Forces through a google search.

Yep. That's what I get, too.(the military stuff). I have MSN as my homepage.

The Google entry is what Google found when it crawled the web taking snapshots on Jan 2. If you click the "cached" link, you find the GoDaddy page (that Nightlight said he saw earlier). The military stuff is just what is found on the GoDaddy page of Sponsered Links--because of the word "forces" being a military term.

I cleared the cache in Netscape, then tried www.forces.org and the FORCES home page comes up. The Tavern page is still 404.

I just received a newsletter from FORCES.

They've been moving from a hosted templat server to a non-templat server.

The Tavern will be back at www.forces.org/tavern , so bookmarks to the old link won't work.

They've been working behind the scenes to update and improve.
