A person I know wants to commit suicide and heard about how there is 'no safe level of exposure' to SHS and that 30 minutes exposure to SHS causes heart attacks and strokes and thought that maybe exposure to SHS might be the way to go.( pardon the pun!)

Since they know that I have smoked for over 45 years and looked into these things, they wanted my opinion on the matter.

I had to inform them that I had never noticed or heard of people dropping dead from being exposed to SHS and that maybe smoking might do the trick.

After all, everyone knows that smoking kills and that cigarettes are the only product that will kill you if used as directed on the pack.

Unfortunately; the undeniable fact that I am still alive, after 45 years of smoking, does not lend credibility to my advice!

They are going to try smoking anyway, with the idea being that if they do not die right away, they can sue someone( the ACS, ALA, AHA, or whomever) for false advertising and recover the cost of the cigarettes and receive punitive damages for the mental anguish they have suffered.

Just a suggestion. I wouldn't discount the risk of SHS so fast. It'll speed things up.

I'd have them first be exposed to SHS for 30 minutes. That'll bring them right up to the same risk of heart ailments as you. They can skip your 45 years of smoking and die that much sooner. In fact, the same day as you.
