On another forum I was reading an interesting discussion about the discovery of Mad Cow Disease in Alberta. The discussion stemmed from an article in a Canadian paper about understanding why the US has closed it's border to Canadian cattle and beef for right now with hopes the US will not drag it's feet re-openning the border when the problem has been solved, even though such foot dragging would be understandable in light of some of Cretien's positions vis a vis US policies and our President in particular.
What does this have to do with smoking you say, nothing really, except an exchange in the discussion between a US cattleman and several other folks reminded me of ALF and the stir they caused with their dog urine advertisement. Apparently UREA concentrates are an economical means of getting nitrogen into the cattle feed as cattle are unable to process animal protein but do convert nitrogen into protein. I wonder how many of the antis will get their panties in a wad over this disclosure? I mean when you consider how outraged they were that urea was contained in a product they not only don't use but are trying to force others to not use, one can only imagine the outrage they should be expressing since they are learning that something they most likely consume (beef) is actually fed this.................. (all rhetorical, to say the least) With a few specific exceptions, I've got nothing against Canadians and truly feel for those that will be harmed by the border closure. But we're all familiar with a couple of Canadians that were gleeful about the ALF ads - and to them I say stick it in your pipe and smoke it!!! (and larry, since you enjoy to cut/paste of so much on this forum to others places - have fun) |

Goats too. And all in the name of profit.
Supplements for goats may contain urea. Urea is a nitrogen-containing compound that the bacteria in the rumen of goats can convert into microbial protein, which then can be used by the animal. Feed companies add urea to make a supplement cheaper. This is one of the reasons why the cheapest supplement may not necessarily be the best supplement. The urea costs less than other protein sources such as canola meal or soybean meal. |
