Shamelessly pirated from another blog:
On Great American Smokeout Day, do not spend your money if you smoke. Stock up on thangs that you need before that day. And afta that day, mark all of your dollar bills with "SMOKERS MONEY." Maybe when people start seeing dollar bills with SMOKERS MONEY on them, that will make society and anti orgs think twice on abusing smokers' money! Because society takes smokers money for granted. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I used to have compassion, but they legislated it and taxed it out of existence. |

That's a great idea, Dave!

Here is another good idea, Nov '08' vote out of office those that voted for this thing.Gary K.

That is a good idea. If you could get every tobacco user to do this, with the way money circulates, you'd soon find every dollar in America marked with the phrase.

I also think is a great idea and I am writing that down on my bills right now
and if enough of us do that wonder what sort of impact that will have on those that could care less about smokers..and on how or what they spend their money on....just wished I marked the money I used to pay my house payment first before handing over my cash payment to the mortage company..of a thousand dollars in 100.00 bills would there be a law inacted to prevent defacing government issued money because we are writing on it "smokers money"? -------------------------- can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen --------------------------- If you're fed-up with government intrusion into our private lives (alcohol, tobacco, weight or so-called obesity, etc.) especially the nonsense and destruction surrounding smoking bans, then discuss/fight smoking bans at the FORCES tavern or go directly to their FORCES homepage. Supposed to be one in effect now, but it never stopped the "Where's George?" people from writing on it. Besides, they'd have to actually catch you in the act of writing it to prove it. I've started doing it already. If you ever drop over to the Smoking Lobby, you can thank Jay for the idea. I think he has a blog, too, I'll try to get th' link.

Here's Jay's Blog
http://chicagosmoker-jay.blogspot.com/ (he's also head of the Illinois Smoker's Alliance Group on Yahoo), but he says he got the idea from someone else at the Illinois Alliance. Whoever came up with it, it's great. SPREAD THE WORD. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I used to have compassion, but they legislated it and taxed it out of existence. |

I have marked all the cash I have available at the moment (about $150), and from now on, intend to mark each and every bill I come in contact with, every month when I cash my Social Insecurity and Pension checks.

Too bad there wasn't a "rubber stamp" type of thing available! You know what I mean? I think these can be made too - I believe a place like Staples makes custom made rubber stamps. This way you wouldn't get writer's cramp! Thanks varla_pussycat |

Yes! I was thinking that too VPC. It used to cost about $6.00 to get a simple rubber stamp made, and I think one just looked in the Yellow Pages under Rubber Stamps. A place like Staples too, certainly would make them. It probably costs more than $6.00 now, but it still wouldn't be out of sight. This counter to the SmokeOut day was a great idea all-around for you to pass along, Dave Clark. Thanks. |

The problem with that is as follows: Smokers are despised so much that they would be arrested for defacing currency. |

Got 'em all marked, Jem. Thanks for leading the way

Nope-would have to literally catch you in the act to prove it-and- for those of you who aren't aware (I got this from several detectives over the years) THEY CAN'T TRACE PRINTING. NO handwriting expert can do it! Also-they'd have to try to prosecute the "Where's George"? people too. People write on money all the time. Ain't gonna happen. Absolutely nothing the bastards can do, it's a great way to protest, and it's giving the finger to the government at the same time. You're right on those rubber stamps, by the way. Back in the 70s or 80s, I had a few special ones made up so we could harass a certain supervisor at work by stamping derogatory comments in the john, on walls, and other places (like his calendar one night when we got the key to his office). They were self-contained, fit in your purse or pocket, and never leaked. Not mine, anyway. I like the stamp idea.

The best part about this is, it's a quiet , silent, sneaky form of protest that will slowly gain nationwide momentum (perhaps worldwide)and take them totally by surprise. And it doesn't take anything but some minor effort.
