The waiting rooms of you children's doctor or thru him or her.

Just take the kids out for a walk thru the neighborhood during the work day. This can bring out grandmothers who are a wealth of information for a stranger in town.

Grocery shopping during the day or walking the mall.

Have your husband keep an eye out at work for others with children and a wife who works at home.

Cruse the school grounds before classes let out looking for mothers with children in the car or at their feet.

Talk to your priest about families in the parish he is aware of.

Look for harried mothers while at mass. Hang out in the crying room at church.
