With all the restrictions and bans, one thing is still valid. Smokers are the most fun to be with. No matter where I go, if I'm with smokers I'm with friends. My wife thinks the same way. When we have family reunions, it's the smokers that are the happiest bunch. With our friends, the non-smokers are somewhat dull in comparison with smokers. Why is that? Do smokers enoy things better?
You hear that sometimes. Though it's probably the case, when folks are doing something they enjoy, whether it's smoking, or something else, they may be more fun to be around. Smokers enjoy smoking, and are doing so, on a regular basis, hence the comparative "fun" effect.
Someone I know, who is normally rather dull, came over today and showed me a vase he bought in a garage sale today, paid 20 bucks for it, is worth a couple thousand, he is a collector ... he was not dull at all today! smiles from ear to ear. Enjoyment equals fun, and dullness results from the lack of such.

True enough, John L, but also I've heard from restaurant wait-staff (including two daughters who have done that work) that smokers are better customers, more pleasant to wait on and better tippers.
I heard it said once that smoking is what separates humans from animals. It certainly isn't necessary for survival but it sure is fun and is what makes us human - or subhuman to some...

Denial is the partner of drug addiction and that includes nicotine. We are left to wonder why a physician finds "ironic" a hospice smoking room full of nicotine addicts.
Perhaps the absence of people in the nonsmoking room illustrates clearly why many of those living out their final days in a hospice are there in the first place."

clearly stated this Ginny Lovell person has a problem, I wouldn't want her caring for my ailing relitives. With hostilities like hers toward smokers. It falls in the line of abuse of elders. or anyone who happens to need the service of a hospice worker.

"This Ginny Lovell" is a notorious antismoker who lives in British Columbia and has polluted numerous websites with her hate-filled, hateful diatribes about smokers and smoking. She writes under various names, but veterans of the war on smokers know her in many guises and have long questioned her motivations, truthfulness, and sanity. She is of no consequence.
Part of the reason I decided to start smoking had to do with the fact that it always seemed like the smokers were having more fun, socializing more and just enjoying life. I have not been disappointed at all!

That's absolutely correct, but she is a tremendous source of entertainment on any dark and lonely night. She's always there on iwon.com (currently under the name, galster3) and never fails to offer an "expert" opinion on things she knows nothing about.
There's the beaujolais nouveaux fiasco, and gabz obsession, and my favorite for which I don't have a link because we haven't brought it up in a long time is that she always swears that 85-90% of smokers are doomed to contract lung cancer according to Johns Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic.

I would be very concerned having some one like that taking care of any one in a hospice center or even who visits homes to care for a paitent who would need the services of a home care worker.
my son who is disabled requires someone to come to my home and provide home care. I interviewed a half dozen people to see what sort of char they were. at the time my son was a minor under 18 and I couldn't do it myself state wouldn't allow it so I had to let someone else care for my son in my home. I went through about 6 differnt people either they wasn't up to snuff or they decided they couldn't handle him. good thing I was there in a couple of instances cause they got mean and really abuseive toward my son. now that he is 18 I care for him myself. I am happy with it and my son knows that I will never hurt him or abuse him.

This woman is an absolute nutcase. She probably makes up whatever story gets her attention. I suggest we just feel sorry for them and send them into some void.

I agree. How sad it must be to be her and filled with so much hatred. I'd rather smoke, love life and even die early, if I must, than spend everyday in such a bitter little world.
