Apparently the antis in Massachusetts are in a huff because cigarette sales are up 3.5% in the past year despite a statewide smoking ban and a $1.50/pack tax - which they promised would reduce the number of smokers...
Their solution? The state isn't funding tried and true anti brainwashing programs enough. Looks like the new demwitcrat governor will grant them their wish.

Cig sales up in Mass.

Nick,
I see the stats as laziness or the expense of road-trips [gasoline] to New Hampshire.

New Hampshire is - like - right there.....
Unless you live on the Tip of Cape Cod, it's only a 2 hour round trip

Or could be Buy One Get One Free promotions, are they still doing that type of marketing? I need to pay more attention to that, haven't bought cigarettes in MA for years. And I now RYO.

"Cadillac" Deval Patrick will definitely boost their payrolls again...well, at least 'say' he will boost them...so far he's my favorite Democrat Governor, up to now he's made a farce of his office and no action.
"I'll look into that" ~Patrick~

Government without action is the best government of all in my book.

When are they going to learn, it's from SMOKING IN MOVIES!

Or is it something else this week? Oh yes, how stupid of me. It's lack of funding.
